General directives

Notice: Your repertoire list must comply with the “Repertoire Guidelines”, as specified in the rules.

First Elimination

  1. One of the following works:
    • Plog: Three Miniatures
    • Wilder: Suite No. 1 (Effie)
    • Persichetti: Serenade No. 12
    • Kraft: Encounters II
  2. Two consecutive movements (including the slow movement) of a sonata or a concerto from the baroque or pre-classical period.
  3. Two consecutive movements (including the slow movement) of a sonata from the 20th or 21st century.
  4. One complete work written for tuba or a group of movements or one movement of your choice.

Maximum time: 40 minutes

Semi-Final

  1. One sonata or concerto from the baroque period.
  2. One major work of the repertoire, written for tuba.
  3. One or two works of your choice.
  4. A Canadian work written after 1950.

Maximum time: 60 minutes

Final

  1. One complete concerto written for tuba.
