General directives

Notice: Your repertoire list must comply with the “Repertoire Guidelines”, as specified in the rules.

First Elimination

  1. One of the following works:
    • Glière: Prélude et scherzo Op. 32
    • Bottesini: Élégie et tarantelle
    • Proto: Caprice
    • Serventi: Largo et scherzando
    • Zbinden: Hommage à J.S. Bach Op. 44
    • Montag: Extrêmes
    • Sperger: Two movements of a sonata
  2. Two contrasting movements (including the prelude) of a Suite for cello by J.S. Bach.
  3. Two consecutive movements (including the slow movement) of a sonata or a concerto from the baroque or classical period.
  4. One complete work or a group of movements or one movement of your choice.

Maximum time: 40 minutes

Semi-Final

  1. One complete sonata.
  2. One or two romantic works from the same composer.
  3. One complete work or a group of movements or one movement of your choice.
  4. A Canadian work written after 1950.

Maximum time: 60 minutes

Final

  1. One complete concerto written for double bass.
