With a network of hundreds of volunteers from coast to coast, the CMC is Canada’s musical meeting place for the country’s best young musicians. Year after year, the CMC ensures the ideal conditions to encourage and stimulate the emergence of new talents. Over the years, the CMC has provided performance experience and a first chance to be heard to several young artists who, in turn, have gone on to make a profound mark on the national and international music scenes. Artists like Louis Lortie, Isabel Bayrakdarian, Angela Hewitt, James Ehnes, Jan Lisiecki to name only a few. No doubt, this year’s edition will once again reflect the high standards of musical excellence that have been the hallmark of the CMC for over 50 years.
